St Bridget Parish Council
St Bridget ’s Parish Council covers the area in Beckermet Village south of the Kirk Beck down to the sea, north of the Bogholes and includes the Village of Calderbridge, Sellafield Works and a large portion of Cold Fell and ends at Ponsonby Fell. One portion of the Parish is in the National Park.
The Parish Council sets the precept for this area, covering costs of grass cutting, playgrounds insurance of amenities and clerks wages.
It is the “watchdog”for Parish matters and concerns.
The Council meets alternate months in Beckermet Reading Room and Calderbridge Village Hall.

St John ’s Parish Council
At the present moment there is still a discussion regarding the possible amalgamation of the parish boundaries of both St John ’s (which includes Thornhill and part of Egremont) and St Bridget ’s ( which includes Calderbridge) as the village is divided in half between the two Parish Councils.
